Crop first at 20 KB
At 20 KB every pixel counts. Crop the photo to just your face and shoulders, or the signature to just the ink, before you shrink it. Then the tool can keep more detail where the form looks. For a signature range such as 10 to 20 KB, use the signature resizer.

The sharpest copy that fits
The tool tries the highest quality first and only lowers it as far as it must. If even that is too big, it shrinks the picture a little and tries again, so faces and text stay as clear as the limit allows.

Why does my photo look smaller after shrinking?+
At 20 KB, lowering quality alone is often not enough, so the tool also reduces the pixel size. Crop the photo tighter first for a sharper result.
What is the PAN card photo size?+
Protean's online PAN form asks for a colour photo of 3.5 x 2.5 cm at 200 DPI, no bigger than 20 KB. This tool sets the KB only, not the DPI or the cm, so crop to that shape first. Our PAN photo and signature guide links the source.
Can I use this for my SSC signature?+
For a range such as SSC's 10 to 20 KB, use the signature resizer, which opens on signature sizes and warns you if a result falls under 10 KB.
