Guide
Photo and signature size for NEET and SSC applications in 2026
- NEET photo
- JPG, 10 to 200 KB, white background
- NEET signature
- JPG, 10 to 100 KB
- SSC photo
- Captured live, no upload

Exam forms reject uploads for a few kilobytes, and copycat sites still quote old rules. Here is what the NEET UG 2026 bulletin and the SSC 2026 notices actually say.
A real moment
“It is the last day to apply. The form says the signature must be between 10 KB and 20 KB, and every scan you make is either 9 KB or 40 KB.”

NEET UG 2026 takes a passport photo as a 10 to 200 KB JPG on white, a 10 to 100 KB signature, and impressions of both hands' fingers and thumbs, plus a live webcam photo. SSC 2026 captures your photo live during the application and asks only for a 10 to 20 KB JPEG signature.

NEET UG 2026: what you upload
The NTA bulletin asks for a passport photo as a 10 to 200 KB JPG with your face and ears visible on white, taken after 1 January 2026, a 10 to 100 KB signature, impressions of both hands' fingers and thumbs, and PDFs of 50 to 300 KB for your certificates.

NEET: the live photo and the postcard photo
A live photo is taken by webcam or phone during the application. The 4 x 6 inch postcard photo is not uploaded at all: you keep printed copies, and paste one on the proforma that comes with your admit card.

SSC 2026: only the signature is uploaded
SSC no longer asks for a photo file: the application captures your photo live. The signature goes in as a JPEG of 10 to 20 KB. The notice gives two slightly different dimensions, so stick to the KB range, which it states the same way everywhere.

Hitting a 10 to 20 KB range
A range has a floor as well as a ceiling. Scan the signature in DigiSafe, crop it tight, then tap Make it smaller and type 20 KB. If it comes out under 10 KB, crop less tightly or keep colour, and make the copy again.

Step by step
- 1
Download the official bulletin or notice for this year's exam.
- 2
Scan your signature and photo in DigiSafe.
- 3
Crop each one tightly.
- 4
Tap Make it smaller and type the upper limit, such as 20 KB.
- 5
Check the result is above the lower limit too.
- 6
Upload the copies before the last day.
