The basics
DigiSafe is a free app for keeping your important papers: passport, ID cards, bills, warranties and anything else you would hate to lose. It scans them, keeps them encrypted on your phone, and helps you share only what an office actually needs.
Yes. There is no subscription and no advertising, and every feature on this site is in the free app.

No. DigiSafe is an independent app and is not affiliated with any government body.
India, the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia. You can pick up to two at a time, and each gets folders that match its documents.
Safety and privacy
No. Every page is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it is saved or backed up. We store a locked copy and do not hold the key.
Your name, your email address, when you joined and which devices are signed in. Not what you keep, what it is called, or how many pages it has.
Reset it with your account password and your documents stay safe. If you forget both your PIN and your password, nobody can open them, including us.
On your device, plus an encrypted backup with our storage provider. The Privacy Policy in the app names where that is.
Using it day to day
Yes. Once you are set up, opening, reading and scanning work with no connection, and changes back up on their own when you are online again.
Yes. Sign in on a phone, a tablet and a laptop; the same PIN opens the same vault on all of them.
Yes. Pick 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB or 2 MB, or type your own limit, and DigiSafe makes a copy at that size on your phone.
Reminders today cover warranties, with a nudge 7, 15 or 30 days before one ends. Expiry dates read from documents are shown in the app, and document expiry reminders are on the list.
Your account and your data
No. An account keeps the email it was created with. If you want a different one, create a new account with it, and delete the old one from Account, then Privacy & data.
Yes. Account, then Privacy & data, makes one ZIP on your device with your folders, your original files and a README.
Account, then Privacy & data, then Delete account. It removes your account and every document on every device, and it asks you twice.
Only if you leave product emails switched on. Codes, password resets and security notices are sent because your account needs them.
