01

Size is not the only rule

Forms with a 200 KB cap usually set the shape and background too. OCI wants a square photo of 200 to 900 pixels a side on a light background that is not white. This tool sets the KB, not the pixels, so crop it square and resize it to 900 pixels a side or less first.

02

The sharpest copy that fits

The tool tries the highest quality first and only lowers it as far as it must. If even that is too big, it shrinks the picture a little and tries again, so faces and text stay as clear as the limit allows.

03

Your photo stays on your device

Some online compressors send your photo to their servers. This one works inside your browser, so a photo of your face, signature or ID never travels anywhere. The DigiSafe app does the same job on your phone, free today, with no ads.

Questions about 200 KB photos

How do I reduce a photo to 200 KB?+

Choose your photo in the tool on this page, keep 200 KB selected and tap Shrink. You get a JPG under 200 KB, made in your browser, and your original is not changed.

What photo size does OCI ask for?+

The OCI portal asks for a square photo of 200 to 900 pixels a side, no larger than 200 KB, on a plain light background that is not white. Our passport photo size guide links the source.

Does the tool change my photo's pixel size?+

It keeps photos up to 2,400 pixels on the long side, and only shrinks them further if it must to fit the size you pick. It does not set an exact pixel size, such as OCI's 900.
