How to download your voter ID card (e-EPIC) online

The e-EPIC is a PDF copy of your voter ID that you can keep on your phone or print. Here is how to get it from the Election Commission's portal.

Sign in on voters.eci.gov.in, choose E-EPIC Download, and enter your EPIC number or form reference number. An OTP goes to the mobile number registered with your voter record. If your mobile is not registered, update it through Form 8 first.

Where to download it

The Election Commission's Voters' Service Portal has an E-EPIC Download option. You sign in with an account made with your mobile number. The ECI describes the e-EPIC as a digital copy of your voter ID card.

The steps

Choose E-EPIC Download, enter your EPIC number or your form reference number, and verify the OTP sent to the mobile number registered with your voter record. Once it is generated, save the PDF.

If your mobile is not registered

The OTP only goes to a registered mobile number. The portal says the facility to update your mobile number is in Form 8, so do that first, then come back to download.

Using it at the polling station

The Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi's e-EPIC FAQ says you can store the PDF on your phone, upload it to DigiLocker, or print and laminate it, and show a printout as proof of identity at the polling station.

    Open voters.eci.gov.in and sign in with your mobile number.

    Enter your EPIC number or form reference number.

    Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile.

    Save the e-EPIC PDF.

    Add it to DigiSafe so it opens even offline.

Questions people ask

Can I download my voter ID card online?+

Yes. Use E-EPIC Download on the ECI's Voters' Service Portal with your EPIC number or form reference number and an OTP to your registered mobile.

What if my mobile number is not linked to my voter ID?+

The download needs an OTP on your registered mobile. The portal lets you update your mobile number through Form 8.

Is the e-EPIC valid for voting?+

The CEO Delhi FAQ says you can download the e-EPIC and print it to show as proof of identity at the polling station.
